These window visors from Putco are definitely worth their weight in plastic (if that’s saying much). Seriously though; strong and rigid, but flexible enough to apply them without too much difficulty (see below), and they don’t flap in the wind. They are not nearly as thin as many visors we’ve seen in the past. Five stars!
Aesthetics: ★★★★
Out of the box, this set looks amazing. Absolute mirror finish with no defects. Small Putco label in the corner, but subtle and not too noticeable. One great thing about the set is that the front two pieces extend all the way down to the mirror, creating a more streamlined look. The set is also applied within the window slot, which looks much better than the over-the-window sets.
After a month or two of use, however, the finish started to lose its shine, and scratches started developing in the plastic. Although they are shallow, they are noticeable when you get close to the vehicle. 4 stars due to this durability concern alone.
Value for price paid: ★★★★
Initially, we were a bit disappointed at the higher price for the chrome visors. An added cost is understandable, but at $144.95 this set was much higher than the traditional black. Still, we went for it, and definitely were not disappointed. If you’re a chrome guy/girl, spend the extra cash because they look great. 4 stars; worth the price, but wouldn’t complain if it was a bit more fair.
Usefulness: ★★★★★
Like most window visor sets, this set is extremely useful. Rain, snow, mud and wind is all kept out of the vehicle (and your face) when you’re driving with the window cracked. This set is especially nice considering the fuller design that stretches down to the mirror. This added bit makes a huge difference, deflecting a lot of wind away from the window. 5 stars.
Ease of installation:★★★
Approximate time of install was 1 hour. This particular set is applied within the window slot, which is quite tight and difficult to clean. Lining up the pieces and getting them to stick to the inside of the window slot takes some patience, but if you take your time you’ll get the hang of it fairly quickly. 3 stars.
OVERALL: ★★★★
Overall we give this product 4 stars. Putco produces quality products that are useful and look great. Like everything, there are a few flaws, but nothing major to worry about.
